Well, another month come and gone and I ask what did we actually accomplish? The changes at our Legion with respect to the landscaping done by Valerie and Bea, the fence repaired, carpets shampooed and many other little projects are completed. I would also like to thank Steve for cutting our grass, which makes a big improvement to the outside of our building.

Now! Without volunteers we would not get these items completed. But the problem I see is that it is the same volunteers helping out day after day. How do we change this and get some of the approximately 1200 members to step-up and help out the Branch by volunteering? A question I ask you, as members, is there a reason you don’t sign up to help out? As changes come to the Legion with respect to the need to host functions, if we wish to stay afloat revenue wise, we need your support!

Grandfathers, grandmothers, parents, if you have children going to University/College and are in need of a scholarship we at the Legion give them out annually. If you have a child who is interested. ask them to go to our website and link to the following:

Once they have completed the application and attached their school grades and reference letters, bring it to the Office and the Branch will be in touch for an interview in the future.

The order has been placed for new tables for the Auditorium. We will be replacing the heavy wood tables and hopefully making it easier for our volunteers setting up for functions in the Branch. We have 30 new 90” rounds tables, 20 8’ tables, 12 6’ tables and 100 4’ X 30” plastic tables coming from the USA as they can not be bought in Canada. The funding for this came from the New Horizon Grant which we have received two years in a row now.

I would like to remind our members over the summer months to be mindful of the changes to hours on Sundays and or/other changes with our hours due to sales. Please remember to support your local Branch. As this is a slower time for the Legion, please do not forget us! Come in for dinner any night after 5pm, support our Kitchen and enjoy a cold beverage.
