May 2016 Newsletter
Spring is in the air, so is all the pollen. Hope that you’re succeeding in keeping your allergies under control – I know lots of people have it on their mind these days.
It’s been another busy month booking new events daily and hosting the events we have booked. We seem to be getting our name out there and people are liking what we’re doing. This past month we hosted two weddings, a service for the RCMP for them to have their time to honour CNST. Sarah Beckett. It was a great success!
On May 13 we will be hosting, along with Phoenix The Band, a fundraiser dance with proceeds going to the Beckett family. Tickets for this will be $20.00 each.
I’ve had meetings this past month with the bar staff and the cook going over daily requirements.
We had a company out this past week to look at the sound system in the lounge. They found the wiring was wrong so that has been fixed. There are also problems with our amp so they will be in over the next few days getting it fixed and will get our cordless mic system up and running by this weekend.
We have also had Shaw out this week to update our current WIFI setup. We are changing it so we will have open WIFI throughout the branch, including the hall.
Time change for bar hours for May 1 – July 31: Mon/Tues 11 am – 10 pm Wed 11 am – 11 pm Thurs 11 am – 10 pm Fri 11 am – 1 am Sat 11 am – 10 pm Sun Noon – 6 pm
There will be no May Steak Night due to other events. Lemon’s + Limes have gone up in price so we will not be putting them in free water any more.
