Message from the President:
As 2020 come to a close, a year that we will not soon forget, I know many of us are looking forward to the New Year and a fresh start. First and foremost, I do want state how proud and grateful I am of each and every one of our loyal members of our Branch 91, the Langford Legion. It is so appreciated how you supported us during this difficult period. And thank you for following all the safety protocols set out by the Public Health Officer since our re-opening in June. Your safety and wellbeing are of the utmost importance to us and being able to continue to serve you means so much to us.
As you know doubt are aware by now, with the increase of Covid cases since the end of November, we have had to make some further, difficult changes to our schedule of events once again. That included the cancellation of our weekly meat draw and music bingo. Not only was this unfortunate for the branch, we miss seeing and serving all of you who came out to enjoy these events.
Hopefully it will not be long before we can bring them back once again. I do want to thank Bea and Tammy for their ideas in ways in which to entertain our members. Gift baskets and gift cards for a giveaway on Saturday afternoons is just one. Steak dinners beginning at 5pm on Saturdays are once again being offered. Furthermore, the bar will be open for lunch between 12-2pm, Tuesday through Friday. The very popular fish and chip night on Fridays, continues from 5 to 7:30pm. So hopefully we see you for dinner at the branch or consider us for take out!
Our legion is looking much brighter with Christmas lights and trees being decorated. I do want to sincerely thank Moe, Mel, Susan and Debbie for their time and effort decorating the branch.
I do want to remind you that it is membership renewal time. If you are unable to come to the branch there are three other ways to pay the annual due of $55.00. You can either mail a cheque, pay securely through our website or just give our office a call and pay by credit card. Your new sticker will be mailed to you. Each of you, as members, are vital to our continued success, so please remember to renew.
Finally, the branch will be closed during Christmas from December 25 to January 1st. We understand that it is a slow period for the branch so it was simply the right decision for this period of time. And we look forward to seeing you again in January!
On behalf of your Langford Legion Executive, I do want to take this opportunity to wish each of you all the best for the holiday season and hope that the New Year brings you good health and happiness!.
