Message from the President - September 2025

Well, how is everyone is doing? How was your summer - hopefully you had a great one. Now it is the time we all have to be thinking of fall, as it will be here sooner rather than later. And, yes the rain will be here. This possibly makes you sad but unfortunately, due to the hot summer we need the rain.

Over the last few months the Branch has remained reasonably busy with bookings. We currently sit with something happening just about every weekend for the next several months.  We need to keep ourselves afloat and allow us to save more funds and put these funds against our mortgage. With the busy times, we need volunteers to please step forward and offer to help. In our Branch, we have had a huge struggle getting volunteers out to help so this has forced us to hire staff, which cuts into the bottom line. Perhaps this is the way of the future where volunteers just are not there. All I can say to that is it makes me feel very sad.

With the economic pressures of today surrounding liquor pricing and food pricing, we will over the next few month do a review on our cost of goods and possibly have to make the decision that prices must go up. Unfortunately, we cannot forecast these changes in cost but it will have to be reflected back to you as members and guests. 

We also ask, “What are you missing within our Branch re entertainment, sports, drinks, etc.” If you feel there is something, we can offer our members and guests let us know and we will look into it.

Membership is here again for the 2026 membership season. Our Renewal Campaign begins September 15^th.  Get your name into the early bird draw for a chance of winning a 1-year membership renewal. Remember, you can renew online through the following link https://www.legion.ca/join-us/renewal. In addition, when in the renewal site, you can add your credit card so your membership dues continue being paid and years of service never are interrupted. In addition, you can choose to have a digital card that will show on your cell phone - and if a credit card is supplied it will automatically renew.     Treasurer

    6 Executive members

We need your help in filling these positions so start thinking about whom you would like for your Branch Executive. If interested, ask us and we will help you understand what is involved.
