Welcome to November, another very busy month for your Langford Legion. First, let me remind all of our valued members again, that our daylight hours are greatly reduced with the time change so please be careful no matter how you travel on these darker and wetter days.
Our annual poppy campaign is now underway so when you see one of our volunteers at a Westshore retailer, please stop and say “hello” as their service to the branch is so greatly appreciated. It is also not too late to sign up for a shift so please contact the branch or stop in during business hours if you are interested in assisting such a worthwhile cause.
As always, our Remembrance Day service will take place at Veterans Memorial Park on November 11th which will be followed by our gathering at the branch. Your executive looks forward to seeing many of you there on the 11th.
As I have noted previously, the next few months are very busy at the branch with many holiday celebrations taking place. As always, we need help both in the kitchen - serving, dishwashing and setting up for events. If you have time, sign up for volunteering, please contact the branch as any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Our Annual General Meeting is also taking place at the end of the month. There are a number of positions available. So, if you are interested in the operations of the branch, please stop by and learn more about your executive. It is a very rewarding experience.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank those volunteers that are at the branch regularly, and in many cases, daily. Without your ongoing assistance, we simply would not be able to continue to operate as efficiently as we do.
On behalf of your executive, please stay safe during these darker days and we look forward to seeing each of you at the branch during the month!
Norm Scott
President
