Message From the President - November 2026
November marks the start of a busy season for our legion, with holiday parties getting underway. Our most important event is Remembrance Day on November 11th. As always, the service will be held at Veterans Memorial Park, followed by a reception at the Legion. Our annual poppy fundraising campaign leads up to Remembrance Day, and we still need volunteers. If you can spare a few hours for this worthy cause, please contact the branch. We are also having our first “Poppy Drive Thru” on November 5th from 4:30pm to 7:00pm. The Upside from CHEK TV will be here so please stop by and “Drive Thru”!!
Our Annual General Meeting is on Monday, November 23rd. We hope many of you will join us. Please bring your membership card and ensure your 2026 dues are paid.
It was also noted at our meeting in October by Executive Member, Dave Ramalho, Building and Grounds, that a gazebo has been set up at the rear of the building for those members who choose to smoke. I should mention again that no smoking is allowed within twenty feet of the building. Thank you for ensuring this is adhered to.
We have many holiday events planned through the end of December and still urgently need volunteers for kitchen positions including food preparation, serving, swamping, dishwashing, and auditorium setup. If you would like to help, please contact the branch for more information. It would be greatly appreciated.
On behalf of your executive, I want to thank our dedicated staff and volunteers for continuing to make your Langford Legion such a vital part of our Westshore communities. We look forward to welcoming you at the branch!
Norm Scott
President
